Paul Bik, an artist born in Warsaw and based in Milan, believes that an artist's personality and life experiences are inherent in their work, whether it's in the inspiration or the tangible representation. He finds inspiration in the combination of opposites, and his art reflects the harmony between contrasting elements such as geometry and distortion, precision and intuition, and traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques. Despite working primarily with wood, cardboard, resin, plaster, and paint, he cannot easily classify his works as either sculpture or painting, as both processes are equally essential to him.
Paul's artistic journey began later in life, and he pursued various career paths, including psychology, fashion, makeup artistry, streetwear jewelry design, and interior design before dedicating himself to art. Moving to Milan marked a turning point, allowing him to embrace his passion for art. His work reflects his constant search for balance, which mirrors the clash between his introverted and extroverted qualities.
